What do you have to loose?

I was casting a last minute voice over for a commercial. The spec for the role is an Old Chinese Kung Fu Master, around the age of 70. Someone who speaks English with an accent, but still clear enough for the audience to hear the words.

So I immediately contact people that I know either physically fit the character, or have enough voice over experience to produce that specific type of voice.

The audition process for this is fairly simple. By calling a phone number and record a brief voice mail with the material I provided.

Then....

One of the more experienced and professional VO talent wrote me an email:

"Thank you, but they are looking for someone with an older voice."

Well...

Guess what? The person who booked the job is in his early 30s.
