2009 starts with... a bad bang...

Hello guys, I'm back from my vacation.

Yesday, as soon as my plane landed the airport, I got a text message from my manager. It turned out, that Life On Mars has another casting call, and wanted to schedule me for an audition. I went brain dead. I called my manager and explained that I literly *just* got back to New York and there was no way that I could make it to Queens for an audition. So, my audition was rescheduled to the next day.

By the time I got home from the Airport, it was already passed 8pm. I had to clean up the living room, take care of the plants, settle the dog, mopped the floor, clean up the friedge, then went back to the airport to pick up my sister.

So, by the time I got back home, it was already 12:25am. I was tired. My body aches. I was feeling dizzy. I felt like I was getting sick. But as usual, I need to check my emails before I head to bed.

Then there it was, my manager emailed me the sides and my new audition time.

Eight Pages.

E I G H T P A G E S

OH MY GAWD. This is not one of those One or Two liners.

This character is a freakin' CO-STAR. ($$$!!!!!!!)

I NEED MORE TIME!!! AIYA!!!!!!

EIGHT PAGES OF SIDES.

Did you know that I don't have a printer?

I scanned through the sides... And was completely thrown off by the amount of time I have left to prepare...

It was late, and I was so sleepy... Plus I hae to get up at 6:00am for work (And I'm still trying to recover from Jetlag)

So, I forwarded it to my work email address (so I can print them) - hoped that I will have sometime in the morning before I head to the studio.

It turned out, after being gone from work for 2 weeks, my mailbox was flooded with reports and assignments that are due last week.

I worked and I worked and I worked and I worked until my fingers went numb.

Then an hour before my audition time, I printed out the sides, grabbed my coat and went out. It was a 45 minutes train ride to the studio... But seriously, I couldn't not bring myself to concentrate on working the sides. I couldn't... Everything just didn't feel right for me. (Been out of any acting stuff for 2 weeks, along with the 5 lbs Holiday weights... This audition came at the worst time)

As you may have guessed it from the blog title... The audition was horrible. Instead of auditioning for the Casting Associate... I did it with the HEAD of Casting.
I wasn't off book, and I wasn't emotionally prpared. I rushed through it and stubmled on a bunch of words. All the hardwork and money that I invest in my classes went down to drain.

I wasn't asked to do any adjustments... or anything else.

The only feedback I got was "Thank you."

I totally blew it. And the Head Casting Director will forever remember my performance... *sniff* *sniff*... This is probably the last time I'll ever get called in for Life on Mars... *sniff* *sniff*

Oh so sorry to hear about that Wayne. It just wasn't the right time and you way exhausted from overworked and lack of sleep. There'll be other good auditions soon enough. It's only the first week of the new year. Hey, it's really still 2008 according to us Chinese! :-)

Take care and DON'T get sick now!!

Oh sweetie...you know as well as I do that there are going to be auditions like that. It happens. Just chalk it up to audition experience and move along. Besides, other than the fact that Jason O'Mara is scrumptious, I'm not sure how much longer Life on Mars is going to last.
